Can I Get Pregnant By Having Sex With Pull Out Method?

Hi i had two peroids in 10/15 thur 10/20 on 10/25 went and got a pap smear after a day started bleeding from 10/27 thur 10/31. My husband did the pull out method and my peroid was due 11/16 and I m two days late took home test said negative and I m having cramping could I be pregnant?

Hi,

According to your history, your menstrual cycles are somewhat irregular, as you got periods twice in a month with a 12 day gap. Now, as you got second menstrual period on 27th October, now you have to consider this as your last menstrual period date. Though your urine pregnancy test kit gave negative result, as the withdrawal method is having high failure rate, i.e. around 27%, and as month not yet completed according to corrected LMP, we cannot completely exclude the possibility of pregnancy.

Please wait till 27th November, if you get periods as expected no need to worry. If not, better to go for a urine pregnancy test once again. If irregularity in menstrual cycles persists, you may need to get evaluated. Clinical examination, ultrasound and blood test like hemoglobin level, blood sugar levels, thyroid profile, etc., can help in finding the possible cause of your problem and treatment can be planned accordingly.
