Dear Friend,

You have taken very prompt and right action. Emergency contraceptive pills are having good success rates provided they are taken in right dose and within right time. Ideally within first 24 hours of the sex but not later than 72 hours, give very good results; though some pills may be taken even up to 120 hours after unprotected sex.

I feel you should be preventing pregnancy by the action you have take.

Sometimes, the emergency contraceptive pills being hormones, may delay the menses by few days. You need not take stress for it. If the delay is more than a week, then only go for urine pregnancy test and/or ultrasonography to detect/rule out possibility of pregnancy.

I hope this explains you sufficiently and clearly.
