Can I Get Twin Babies Using IVF?

Hi ! I am 28 and want to have twins...... me and my husband both are suffering from slip disc ......... and i have no problem in conceiving , still i feel like going for IVF so that I can have a male child and a female child in one go..........! I have no idea.....how far i am correct ..........please advise me ?

In IVF, usually 4-6 fertilized embryos are implanted and after few weeks, selective abortion of few extra embryos is performed. If you want you can suggest the doctor that you are interested in having a twin pregnancy.
However, gender specific selection of the embryos is not done - it is unethical, antisocial and illegal also. Please do not make such demand. Accept the gender of the baby as it comes. After all, there is no difference socially or familiarly between a son and a daughter. Both are equally competent, responsible and care-giving.
