Can I Go For Hip Replacement While Having Osteitis?

I am supposed to have a hip replacement. Have had a second xray on the small of my back and have been told by my doctor that I have osteroitis. I need to know if there is any point in going ahead with a hip replacement. I am 67 years old. Madonna lloyd

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The hip replacement would help reduce the pain in your hips. This reduction in pain may positively affect the way that you walk or stand and therefore improve any discomfort in your back.

It would not cure the back pain but there should be some change in this pain as well.
It might be best to procede but if you still have concerns, you should discuss with your doctor.

I hope this helps
