Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got married in Feb 2016 , if I can use I pill within 72 hours of unprotected sex how to sure that I m pregnant or not ?? when get periods after 1 week or more delay how to know fertile period before period or after period date to save our self in pregnancy.
As per your query about taking i-pill after unprotected sex is that it can protect pregnancy if taken under 72 hrs but more effective if taken under 24 to 48 hours because as the time increases efficiency can be less. Fertile period usually is from 10th to 16th day from start date of period during which ovulation occurs and chances of being pregnant is greatest. But this applies only if your periods are regular. But consulting a gynecologist for a better opinion will be more helpful for knowing the safe period.
I hope the information helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Regards, Dr. Jyoti Pandey
