Can I Resume Climbing Staircase While Suffering From Ventricle Failure?

Hello Doctor. I had a peirpheral angioplasty on my left leg in January 2014 and later a coronary angioplasty in September 2014. However, prior to the coronary process, I suffered a left ventricle failure. I have avoided climbing staircase. It is 11months. Can I resume climbing staircase? I am a male and 49years old. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the query regarding resuming climbing stair case involves multiple factors to be considered as

- current status of heart pumping as left ventricular contractility
- cardiac output
- ejection fraction
- any murmur or conduction abnormality
- level of exertional or exercise induced ischemia if any
- associated condition of the lungs expansion and others
- swelling legs
- general debility
- body mass index.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
