Can I Smoke Marijuana After Donating A Kidney?

Hi All.. Greetings for the day..I am 30yrs ,Male.. I have been enrolled to do donate my kidney to my family friend. I smoke marijuana almost every night for the last 5 Months.. It helps me get proper sleep and it makes my days productive as well(Eventhough I smoke only at night).. My tests where all done and the results are good enough for donating my kidney.. My questions are #After the surgery when can I start taking Marijuana like usual.. #If smoking is bad what other way is safer. Please advice me about how to tackle this situation.. All suggestions are welcomed.. Thanks in advance

Hello,

There still has not been a lot of research on marijuana use, but so far I have not heard of any major health problems from using marijuana.

After the surgery, resuming your marijuana use should not affect anything to do with the surgery.

In my opinion, it would be ideal if you did not have to depend on a substance to be able to sleep and be productive.

If you are having trouble with sleep, I would try behavioral solutions, such as making sure not to use any caffeine after lunch, going to bed at the same time, having a restful environment to sleep in, and so on.

Hopefully, your body could adjust to being able to sleep without needing any other substance, and you would have enough energy during the day to do the things that you need to do.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
