Can I Smoke Marijuana When Diagnosed With Pleurisy?
I was just diagnosed with pleurisy, and I was give meds to help. The doctor said surgery would not be needed but I am curious if I could smoke marijuana? I know this may seem unorthodox, but I do not want to use the painkillers because I rather not ingest any pain pills outside of Tylenol. Marijuana is know to open up the airways instead of close them so would it be a good or bad idea?! Please help!
Hello You are having "pleurisy" and taking treatment for it . I know and treated so many patient of pleurisy but as far as concerned about pain , it reduces on day first when treatment started , so pain is not a problem . Now about your misconception that Marijuana opens airways , who told you? This is a big lie. Rather marijuana causes bronchoconstriction and this will further aggravate your pleurisy . Beside bronchoconstriction this also lowers the immunity and this will further deteriorate the condition. As far concerned about pain you ( if you have pain ) can take aceclofenac drugs with the treatment of pleurisy. Gentleman , this is up to you but I don't agree with you as pleurisy make life measurable if untreated . Hope you will understand the situation .Good luck.
