Can I Spend Time In Sun While On Amitriptyline?

I am taking amitriptyline. As suggested, I am avoiding prolonged time in the sun. If it seems that this drug is not making me sensitive to sunburn, and my body has adapted well, can I spend a little more time in the sun. Does the sun only affect increased chance of sunburn, or can it also increase the chance of the other side effects listed? (i am 75 year old female, 5 4 height and diabetic
