Can I Take Piriton For The Itch From A Open Wound While On Penicillin?

Hi I am on penicillin for a wound on my pubic mound. I think the wound was caused by a mosquito bite as I do react. I have been on penicillin for 2 days and the wound is now open. Can I take Piriton for the itch or will this impact the work the penicillin is doing.
