Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am 82 years ols. have a ruptured mitral valve. i am on acitrom 2 mg a day and regularly monitor my PT and INR. THIS MORNING I NOTICED A CLOT IN MY RIGHT EYE. THERE IS NO PAIN OR ANY VISION PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD A RETINA DETATCHMENT SURGERY IN THIS VERY EYE 5 YEARS AGO
hello, Thanks for using HCM.I have gone through your query. You must check level of INR. If it is high then you must dicontinue Acitrom and let the clot resolve.Once clot resolves you may restart Acitrom with lower dose with close monitoring on INR. If your INR is normal then you should consult an ophthalmologist to find cause and treatment for the same My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
