Can I Take Calpol For Cold, Fever And Cough?

Hi Doctor, I was suffering from cold and cough since last 1 week.. I consulted physician doctor it gave me relief from fever and cold cough but after that I suddenly felt intense pain in my right ear. I felt it was like blocked and sounds were also felt when I swallowed or did some movement. Is it because of congestion what I feel? Topday, I consulted ENT doc, according to him , it happened due to my faulty chewing and cold coough was mere coincidence. he checked my ear and found nothing wrong. he gave me medicines Calpol, Solvin Cold, and cepodem-xp. Age: 25.5 yrs; Height: 5 5 ; weight: 56kgs; medical history: none(nothing major to mention). Please help me with to know If ENT doctor checked it right?

I really appreciate your concern and I would like to say that in cold and cough symptom some times it gives severe pain in either of ear and this is happens due to the inflammatory process in tympanic membrane during the allergic condition but this comes around with Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg three times in day and Tab Chlorpheniramine maleate, steam inhalation would also good, have a nice day.
