Can I Take Lorazepam For Depression And Sleeping Problem?

I am on trazadone 300mg, venlafalic 150mg quitiapine x 2. I am very down anxious and not sleeping well. my psychiatrist said I can take amitryptiline 50mg at night but in the trazadone leaflet it says do not take with amitryptiline. I checked with my gp and he says no. my psychiatrist is away. I asked her if not could I take lorazepam. she preferred I didn t as it was only to be used short term but I tried it before and my gp put it on repeat. my friend has been on it 2 years and hasn t had to increase her dose. can I take it. will it give me a better sleep and make me feel less depressed.
