Can I Take More Than 5 Milligrams Of Buspar For Anxiety?

Hello Doctor. My daughter has severe anxiety most of the time. Her doctor put her on buspar , the generic form. Only 5 miligrams a day for one week, then up to 10 mils the 2nd week, then 15 mils after that. My question is, can she start this drug at a higher dose to get it working faster, or maybe after 2-3 days? She needs relief NOW.

She may escalate the doses faster but keep your doctor informed. If she has drowsiness with the fast escalation then she has to stick with the previous routine.
