Can I Take Thyroid Medicine With Luke Warm Water Having Lemon And Honey Followed By A Morning Walk?
I am hypothyrodic since last 10 years and take thyroxin (50 mm) every morning immediately after leaving the bed. Last year, I got married and my weight increased to 80 kg. I wanted to know if I could take my thyroid medicine with luke warm water having lemon and honey and then go for a morning walk.

It is not advisable to take thyroxin tablet with lemon and honey.thyroxin has iodine. Honey consists of glucose ana fructose. Iodine oxidises glucose to gluconic acid in presence of small or large amounts of fructose.this gluconic acid in excess leads to kidney related problems, stomach upset etc. Even iron and calcium would interfere with iodine absorption so it is always to be taken on empty stomach with plane or luke warm water.
