Can I Use Daktacort For A Suspected Fungal Issue Inside My Urethra?
So I think I have a fungal issue on my dick but it’s like inside the pee hole of my penis not really on the outside skin. I sent like photos to an online doctor and he said I should use daktacort but then I googled a little bit and some places was saying it’s only safe to use on external skin.
Daktacort contains miconazole (an antifungal) and Hydrocortisone (a mild steroid) ointment. Daktacort is not recommended to be applied inside the urethra or mucous membranes as it can cause irritation or chemical injury to the delicate tissue inside the urethra. It’s made for external skin use only, for fungal rashes with inflammation.
If the infection is actually inside the urethra, you’d need an oral antifungal medication. Get clinically examined by a Urologist and get a urine test, swab, or culture done to detect STIs, bacterial UTIs, as urethral discomfort/infection can be caused by STI or UTI also.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
