Can I Use Timodine Cream On My Scrotum And Foreskin For A Recurring Rash?
Hi, I had some kind of skin infection a couple of months ago (still don’t know what it was or what caused it) which has nearly cleared up now. But then I got (what I think was thrush) an infection on my scrotum and foreskin. I thought this was a side effect of the antibiotics I was given, but it has now come back. I have a red rash on my scrotum and foreskin. Can I use Timodine cream on the affected ares ?
Your symptoms are indicative of either thrush or heat rash. Take care of your hygiene and wear loose cotton underwear to reduce sweating and friction. If it is thrush, applying a topical antifungal ointment / cream without steroid, like Clotrimazole 1% or Miconazole, is seen to work better.
You can also take an oral antifungal (Fluconazole) to get rid of it. Timodine, is commonly not recommended to be applied on the scrotal skin as it may thin sensitive skin if used for long periods. Keep the area dry and clean, wash with lukewarm water only, avoid soaps, bubble baths, and scented products.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
