Can I Use Triglow For Having Melasma On Cheeks?

Hello doctor,
I have melesma on both cheeks, I was using koji glow for 2 months, glyaha saop
for 5 months.but still the dark patch remains. now I have been priscribed to use triglow , for 1/2 an hour at night and wash. Is it safe to use triglow on face. Pls advice.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Triglow is a triple drug combination of tretinoin+hydroquinone+fluocinolone. It is the gold standard combination for melasma treatment. However it has certain cons like irritation etc Moreover since it contains a potent steroid therefore it cannot be used indefinitely. Doctor prescribe it for 3 months and then switch over to safer alternatives like kojic acid or hydroquinone based because of the risk of certain side effects related to steroids like acne, photosensitivity, skin thinning and telangectasias and facial hair growth, which can be specially troublesome in females.
