Can Lamictal Help Prevent Seizures, And Can It Have Any Side Effects?

Hello Dr, I have been taking Dilantin for over 50 years, and have just been told that it has almost totally destroyed the nerves in my legs. Now I am getting off Dalantin ASAP, and it is being replaced with Lamictal. How can I be certain that this will prevent seizures, and will not itself do me any harm? Thank you, Rod

You can continue Lamictal. If seizure persists better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
