Can Latuda 40mg Be Cut Into Half And Taken As 20mg Doses?
Psychiatrist says that Latuda may NOT be cut in half. I was on 40mg, and now have been taking 20mg for 6 months. I have 40mg pills that are NOT EXPIRED. Is there any harm in cutting the 40 s into two 20mg doses? The medicine is so expensive and I can barely affored to buy it, now I m throwing money away.
Hi & Welcome. Incomplete data like age, gender, purpose of taking Latuda???
It is not advisable to to cut this medication into two halves.
Latuda tablets are not scored hence are not designed to be split in half. It is because the active ingredient of the medicine is not equally distributed through out the tablet, so splitting it into two halves may not be effective.
However, you are advised to consult your treating psychiatrist for any dose modification.
Hope this answers your query.
