Can Levothyroxine Taken Before The Coffee Cause Upset Stomach?

I just found out that I should not be taking levothyroxine before I drink my coffee in the morning as it doesn t absorb properly. I also started taking a multivitamin and vitamin d in the morning with the levothyroxine and it gives me an upset stomach. Could it be the mixture of meds and can I just take the levo at night?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you wondering if Levothyroxine taken before the coffee cause upset stomach . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food poisoning , side effects of certain medicine , gastritis or IBS . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , CT scan , ultrasound and take history . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , ornidazole , omeprazole along with analgesic . For now avoid caffeinated product , take ibuprofen for pain .
