Can Lisinopril Cause An Upset Stomach?

I have started taking a blood presure med. Lisinopril. The last couple weeks after taking the pill in the morning I get an upset stomach and have thrown up after eating. It is difficult sometimes to eat lunch. After approx. 1 hour I will become dizzy not a serious dizzy but dizzy none the less. Should I stop taking this med. And start another? I ve explained the symptoms to the nurse at my last appointment but she didn t seemed concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are a lot of different high blood pressure medications and if a person is not able to tolerate the use of one medication then switching to another would be best.

Since you are having issues with this medication, it would be best to discuss this with your doctor or health care nurse again. The medication may need to be stopped and an alternative used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
