Can Lithium Carbonate And Hydrochlorothiazide Be Taken Together?

I am currently taking 1500 mg of lithium carbonate per day and my new doctor prescribed this drug, hydrochlorothiazide, 12.5 mg for high blood pressure and it says in the prescription synopsis, that lithium can cause a drug interaction. What is the interaction or risk?

You can safely take both lithium and thiazides simultaneously. It will not cause any drug interactions.
