Can Lithium Orotate Be Taken For A Long Period?

Is Lithium Orotate safe to take? I ordered some once and took it till finished and it seemed to improve my outlook as my husband has Alzheimers and had to put him in assisted living and was spending a lot of time crying whenever people asked me about him. My mood seemed to improve after taking it a short while but the side effects and warnings seem to indicate it is not something you should take at least for very long. Is that the case?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Self-medication is dangerous it may lead to many problems like hand tremors, increased urination, mild thirst, diarrhoea, vomiting, drowsiness, muscular weakness and lack of coordination etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. I think you may be suffering from bipolar disorder so please consult your psychiatrist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
