Can Lorazepam Be Taken For Anxiety Before A Surgery?

Good morning. I m having surgery to remove some colon cancer cells that wound up in my groin. Before Surgery they are going to investigate my abdomen for granulomas. If they find anyhing with the laprascope they are going to consider Hipotec. Otherwise just clean up remaining area and get clear margins, as time for surgery grows close I have beeen in the evening to calm my anxiety as this is my third surgery. Any problem with 1 Mg dose in the evening. Many thanks. Have a great day.

Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that You should ask the same question from your anesthetist.

Although Lorazepam would not be causing any problems, even then as it's your surgery, your surgeon and anaesthetist must know about this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
