Can Lyrica 75mg Bi-daily Dose Be Increased To Manage Worsening Trigeminal Neuralgia ?
I have started on lyrica 75 mg twice a day for tri germinal neuralgia which has recently become severe. I started a week ago. It seemed effective at first but last night I had 6 episodes where a stab of pain was followed by prolonged severe pain in my right temple, upper eyelid, spreading down to my upper teeth. This morning I took another dose but experienced horrible needle like stabs of pain whenever I move my tongue and touch my right teeth or gums. I have had two bouts of severe constant pain in two hours this morning. After a approx 2 minute bout the touch sensitivity disappears for a time and I can eat normally. Should I up the dose of lyrica? I am 69 and otherwise fighting fit. David.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the dose can be increased or Tab Amitriptyline can be added and for that I would advise to have a word with Doctor you can even bear the pain with the same drug and same dose later or sooner pain will be subsided hope this information helps.
