Can Magnesium, Riboflaven And QCO10 Be Taken Together To Cure Migraine?
Our 15 year old grandson has had migraine since he was 5. He was on Topomax for a short time, but experiences weight loss, etc. He is an active athlete and has managed his headaches until this past week when he had to go to the ER with what the Dr. said was a stoke symptom migraine . In looking online, I have read about the positive effects of Magnesium, Riboflaven and QCO10. Can these be taken together or should he try individually?
Hello dear, I understand your concerns about your grandson. Topiramate is a good drug for prevention of migraine and weight loss is one of its side effects, which is liked by many.Magnesium,Riboflavin and coenzyme q10 have been found beneficial for migraine in some studies but their role is not well established.I would advise you to let your grandson find out what are the trigger factors for his migraine episodes(most commonly stress, sunlight, tea, coffee, cheese or other food items, smoking may trigger migraine episodes. In fact, trigger factor can be anything and vary individual to individual) and eliminate them from his life. You can discuss with your physician about the various class of drugs that are available to treat migraine,so that he can suggest what suits your grandson well.I hope it helps you.
