Can Marijuana Cause Weight Loss?

Marijuana popper smoking...and extreme weight loss. My son, 19 ...5 11 ...maybe 100 lbs....in the past year and a half has become a chronic weed smoker and does weed poppers . (Did not do drugs / minimal beer / alcohol prior to university). He has lost an EXTREME amount of weight and has quit university, and has become very unmotivated and has almost completely withdrawn from our family. WHAT DO WE DO??????? Scared and Lost!

I had gone through the question and understand your concern
Answer to your question is yes, marijuana does cause weight loss. It does so by reducing the appetite. The person does not feel like eating much and hence experiences extreme weight loss oveer the time.
According to me , you can ask him to join any group or meeting which can help him to stay away from the addiction , or if addiction is too much then you think of rehabilitation centre.
