Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, Meftal-P can be given to a toddler for persistent fever.

Meftal-P is usually prescribed for kids with very high fever. The raised body temperature needs to be brought down by any means.

Since the body temperature could not be reduced much with the use of Paracetamol, Meftal-P is more effective than Paracetamol in bringing down temperature.

It can be given safely to an infant of 17 months having a temperature of 102°F. The minimum interval between doses would be 6 hours.

Besides, if the fever is high, you can try putting a strip of fine cloth dipped in cold water or normal water on the forehead and body of your daughter to reduce the raised body temperature.

Give her plenty of oral fluids, and juices to maintain a good urine output.

In addition to above, the cause of fever should be detected and treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
