Hi,

Leptospirosis is an infection caused by bacteria presents as high grade fever, myalgia, fatigue, headache, chills, vomiting, etc. Usually the disease lasts for weeks, often mistaken for other illness. Untreated patients in the end develops kidney injury, liver failure, etc.

Doxycycline is the drug of choice in Leptospirosis. Antacids and antipyretics are prescribed along with antibiotics. Mefenamic acid is a Non steroidal anti inflammatory drug prescribed as an analgesic. Commonly used in dysmenorrhea. This drug interacts with most anti-hypertensives such as ACE inhitors, ARBs, diuretics, etc. It relieves pain and inflammation in the site of injury.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
