Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my left hip replaced the end of April 2016. It s never felt right and my gait is off. I went to my orthopedic surgeon this May and he said I had bursitis in my left hip and I had an injection. He prescribed Ultram 50mg to take 4 times a day. The prescription I received from my pharmacy reads Meloxicam. Take I a day. I just realized that when I found an invoice . Should I keep taking the Meloxicam or call someone tomorrow?
Meloxicam is a strong anti-inflammatory and pain medication. It is great for joint issues. The ultram is also a pain killer but not anti-inflammatory. If the Meloxicam works then stick with that. Ultram is addictive and many providers will steer clear of prescribing it.
