Can Methylprednisolone Be Taken For Recurred Episode Of Gout?

When my doctor heard that I had an episode of gout about a year ago, I was given a script for Methylprednisolone to use in the event of another episode. He recommended that I get the medicine immediately but I didn’t check for information upon receipt of the medicine. I had the first hint of a new episode last Wednesday. By Thursday it was bad enough to proceed. My doctor had told me to contact him before actually starting. I wasn’t able to make contact Thursday or Firday so I started with the medicine. Your comments.

Hi. Stop the methyprednislone.take some pain medications and go on a low purine diet. The diet you can search thru the net but basically you have to lower your protein intake. Elevate affected area, apply ice and try not to put weight on it. Increase your water intake.please have your uric levels checked and/or see a rheumatologist
