Can Metoprolol Succinate And Bayer Be Taken Together?
Hi, thank you-- I am 81, female, in good shape (go to gym once a week). Am taking Metoprolol Succinate once a day for AFIB. Can I also take a Bayer low dose aspirin at night? Now, I can t think why I used to take the low dose aspirin at night, before I got my racing heart Afib experience after a plane flight (I don t like to fly!) and landed in the hospital last December with all sorts of heart monitors. Now, my heart palpitations don t happen because am on the Metoprolol Succinate. Do I need the Bayer? Thank you!
Probably, you would need to continue the aspirin. if it's not causing you any problem. In fact the Metoprolol may control your heart racing, but this does not always mean that the issues has been settled forever.
You need to see your cardiologist and discuss this with him. He would reassess you back and would tell you what to do ahead, but don't do it till you discuss with him.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
