Can Metronidazole And Erythromycin Be Taken At The Same Time?

I was recently prescribed metronidazole and erythromycin for an infected tooth by my dentist, but I'm having a stupid moment and don't feel sure as to weather I was supposed to take them at the same time or one batch the one week and then the other the next week.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if you have an infected tooth then the medications Erythromycin and Metronidazole must be advised to you to be taken together and not one antibiotic for one week and the other for the other week..

So you should start taking both the antibiotics together as advised by your dentist...
Another information that I would like to give you is that if you have an infected tooth antibiotics can help by reducing infection and relieve the symptoms for some time duration and taking antibiotics alone is not a complete treatment profile in case of tooth infections..

Therefore you should get an x ray of the tooth done and then get evaluated by your dentist and in in case if the tooth is in a condition to be saved Root canal treatment of the tooth followed by capping will help..
In case of gross decay extraction of tooth will provide permanent resolution..

Hope this information helps..

Regards.
