Can Metronidazole Cure Amoebiasis Shopping Cysts And Trophozoites?

Hi I am Candian living in Philippines, my wife was just diagnosed with amoebiasis shoing cysts ans trophozoits....she was given one week of Metronidazole 500mg 3x day.
Is this going to cure her and.......am i going to get this?
