Can Metronidazole Gel Be Applied Using A Tampon?
He’ll doctor I am currently taking Metronidazole gel (for 5 days) to treat my bacterial vagininosis and On the 5th day I must take a pill fluconazole tablet to complete the treatment . I’m supposed to take the medication for 5 days I received it on the 19th (4/19/18) and I took it at midnight (12am) which I guess would techinically be considered as Friday since I slept for 6 1/2 hours. Would I stop taking the meds on Tuesday or Wednesday which day would mark the 5th day for me ? And also is it okay to apply the gel with a tampon rather than the plastic applicators provided with the medicine ? And is it safe to masturbate while on the treatment?

You must complete 5 doses, which will be on 23rd in your case. Please use the applicator that came with the gel. Tampons will absorb the gel resulting in not enough medication being applied to the vagina.
