Hi I m new to the birth control. Ive recently had surgery back in April to get my fibroid removed. I also found that I had a cyst on my ovary. The doctor recommend I take microgestin 1/20 (21 day) to decrease the chance of getting another cyst. She told me when to start it and by the last week of my first pack, I would start spotting for a few days, but she didn t tell me how long. She also didn t mention that I was supposed to wait 7 days before starting my second pack. Before I got on these pills my cycles were regular. Since I have been on these pills, I have been spotting for a month (brown/red) without a regular cycle. I started the second pack without waiting 7 days because I didn t know. Is this normal or ok? Im almost done with the second pack. If I wait 7 days after the second pack, will I get my cycle then? If not, should I start my third pack? I have also gotten a UTI. This is weird because it came out of nowhere. I called my docs office and she precsribed me some antibiotics. Are UTI s common with microgestin?
