Can Montair-LC Tablets Be Taken While Trying For A Baby?
Hi, I am 32 years old and taking Montair Lc from last 3-4 years. I used to take for a week during November (season change) then the usage got increased and now from last 2 years I am taking full tablet daily as it starts wheezing and breathlessness in case I avoid taking. Now I m planning for a baby n want to know should I continue with montair lc or now? What are the side effect of this medicine in pregnancy? And if not this, what is the substitute for this Because I can t leave this medicine for more than 1 day.
Montair-LC tablets contain two types of anti-allergic drugs, that is montelukast and levocetirizine. While levocetirizine can be used during pregnancy, we generally recommend avoiding montelukast during pregnancy.
So its necessary to stop taking this drug as it contains montelukast. You should inform your doctor as there is an alternative option that can be used during pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
