Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I believe I have Morgellans disease but when I try to bring it up everyone thinks I m crazy. I ve been give 3 different drug tests in the last 2 weeks since I brought it up to the methadone clinic I go to. I m losing my hair, I have sores that seem to never heal, I get these pussy feeling sites in the back of my neck that have hairs (fibers) in them and take forever to heal and once I even experienced something very scary, the skin on my skull felt like it was bouncing; or like there were bugs crawling under it. I also have times when I touch a certain effected area it makes my lips go numb. What do I do if it s not going to be diagnosed or where do I start? I hate when people tell me I m crazy because the phsical effects show me I m not. I also get these little fibers I describe as thicker hair that grow in and make my skin look wrinkled or tight and they hurt and cause all kinds of bumps on my face.mine is mostly on my face and head. But get it on my arms and pretty much everywhere occasionally
Well, effective treatments for some types of hair loss are available. But some hair loss is permanent. If your hair loss is caused by an underlying disease, treatment for that disease will be necessary.
This may include drugs to reduce inflammation and suppress your immune system, such as prednisone. But also, 2 medications are used for treatment and include minoxidil and Finasteride.
If there is no success with these then hair transplant or restoration surgery can make the most of the hair you have left.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
