Can Mucinex Be Taken After A Sinus Surgery?

I had sinus surgery on Thursday. Today is Monday. Is it ok to take a Mucinex to help thin the mucous that s running down the back of my throat? I was told not to take any sinus medications because they will not help unclog me, and I understand that. I m not looking for congested nose relief. I am looking to thin the very thick mucous draining down my throat causing me to cough incessantly.

Hello,

You can safely take Mucinex after sinus surgery.
It won’t cause any post operative problems.
However avoid forceful blowing.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
