Can Mucinex Cause Constant Gagging Sensation?

I have a problem, I have a constant gagging sensation. First off I am sick and I don't know whether I am causing it to myself or if colds can cause a feeling of constant gagging like sensations. I have been taking Mucinex, at first I took plenty of water but now I barely had any. The two questions are 1. Can colds cause gagging sensations even without a lot of mucus, {in fact hardly any} and 2. Can mucinex possibly be causing or enhancing the sensation? Thank you. :} I cannot pay..... What do I do? I cannot pay for this....

Hello,Welcome to the HCM
Brief..It could be generalized anxiety disorder
detailed...Mucinex is itself decreases mucus ,and side effects can be loose motions, stomach pain, nausea, headache ,hives etc.
since apart from gagging feeling you have not mentioned other symptoms, and from your history above mentioned it seems you may be having generalized anxiety disorder, which is common and can be treated .And for that you may need some counselling.Other you may need antiacids (tab.Omeprazole and tab.domperidone to relieve this nausea, and stop taking mucinex.
