Can Naproxen Sodium Be Taken For Migraine Headache?

I have had migraine headaches since 2004 and I live in Syracuse, New York which is a city that sees more migraines than any other city in the U.S...... it s unfortunate for me that I can only get 9 Imitrex pills a month when I experience at least 15 or more MIGRAINES per month...my neurologist has tried many things, as well as my M.D. and now the neurologist is calling in NAPROXEN SODIUM for me, today, September 17th. I just wanted to know about the makeup of this med and the usual uses of this drug

1. Naproxen sodium is given in acute attack of migraine (750 mg at the onset of attack), maximum: 1250 mg daily.

2. Since it causes abnormal LFT (liver function test) thus check them regularly, so does visual disturbances

3. Treatment of acute attack:
. Lie down in a dark and quiet room
. Give ice bag over the head
. Avoid precipitating factors like: tomato, cheese, tension, starvation, sleeping late, alcohol, chocolates.
4. Grapes (especially riped) are an effective home remedy (crush ripe grapes and drink (do not add water)
. Eat 2 spoon coriander seeds with 2 spoons of sugar candy.
. Take clarified butter after meals
