Can Norethisterone Be Taken After A Stroke?

Hi I have had a previous blood clot and stroke and am now having difficulty getting pregnant. My specialist is aware of my history and had prescribed me with norethisterone. Are there any cases where it is safe to take this drug with a history of clotting ? Eg dosage or length of time on drug. My last stroke was caused by undiagnosed and untreated homocystenuria, plus taking the contraceptive pill. This is now treated and I do not have excess amounts of homocysteine

Hello,

* Now as the homocysteine levels are controlled, provided if PT INR is under control, under medical supervision, you can safely consume norethisterone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
