Can Norethisterone Be Taken For Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding With Clots?

I am 57 - did not have period for 5 months-then got period 3 weeks ago and still bleeding- flooding as well with clots. Can I take norethisterone (I have some) to stop this as I am travelling soon - Iknow this is menopause but its getting me down and I am abroad so cant get to my doctor

I really appreciate your concern, looking to the age yours it could be menopause that caused the amenorrhea (No menses) and if it is menses then it could be something else that need to be investigated and you can not have any hormone medicine on your own, better to see the gynecologist, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
