Can Norethisterone Be Taken To Delay Periods In A Child?
I have a 12 year old and she has an upcoming dance show, where she wears lovely costumes. She has been having periods for about 6 months and I was wondering if it is safe for her to take norethisterone to delay her period at this time. She is very self concious and doesn’t like anyone knowing about her period and will have to get changed in front of her dance friends
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I can't recommend Norethisterone to children under 18 since they are more valuable and can cause more harm than good. Also delaying period is not a medical condition.
Take care.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards.
