Can Nortriptyline HCL And Flecainide Acetate Be Taken Together?

Can I take nortriptyline HCL , which I have used for 10 or more years for neuropathy in my feet, with Flecaniade acetate which I started taking about 3 to 4 years for a missed heartbeat, without a drug interaction? I am an 83 yr. old female in otherwise good health.

Hi, thanks for your question.

I'm very glad to help you with your concerns.

Flecainide with nortriptyline used together has a risk of significant interactions and should not be used except if advised and closely monitored by your doctor

The combination has a tendency to cause a very dangerous abnormal heart rhythm which may be fatal, if doses are not well controlled.

Please review my considerations with your doctor.

I hope i answered your questions.

Warm regards.
