Can Norvasc Be Taken Along With The Beta Blockers?

I m 82...a woman. I ve BEEN TAKING METOPROLOL50 mg twice a day, diovan (Valsartan?) 80mg. once a day. Lately BP has risen when I merely walk back/forth 25ft hall..OR a few feet to get meds..after I ve been lying down/sitting.. Lying down, BP is low. A couple days ago, to E.R. -BP 215/114, rapid pulse, sharp headache pain..one side. Today , primary physician added NORVASC 2.5 mg along with beta -blocker & Ace - Inhibitor that I ve been taking. What do you think? (I feel weak every day....some days much worse than others.) Thank You! YYYY@YYYY

Dear Mrs,
It is good choice to ad Norvasc to your treatment, it is especially indicated in your age. Your physician started with small dose. You should take the medication for some time, and your doctor will decide whether there is need to increase the dose.

Regards,
