Can Nucynta Be Taken While Suffering From Pneumonia?

I have been using oxycontin for 16 years due to a near fatal auto accident and have been denied oxycontin as of 4 days ago, I have been changed to nucynta and have researched it,, i have had pneumonia for the past 3 months and am concerned about the respiratory warnings associated with nucynta.. Any ideas?

Hi,

Nucynta is the brand name of Tapentadol. You can safely take Nucynta even after an episode of pneumonia. It is an opioid analgesic similar to oxycontin. It will not worsen your respiratory status and does not cause much side effects.
