Can Nystatin Be Used Instead Of Mupirocin For Staff Infection?

I have a staff infection on my leg and taking anti biotics as well as using Mupirocin cream but about out of the cream as it was a small tube but my question is, I have some Nystatin 1000,000 units per gram left over from a previous infection of the side of my mouth, can I use the Nystatin and save a $125.00 doctors visit? I have no insurance and not sure what to do. And suggestions of anything OTC is appreciated as well

Nystatin is an antifungal. It can't be used for bacterial infection. Mupirocin should be used for bacterial infection.
