Can Omnacortil 5 Have Any Side Effects?

I am suffering from SLE for past 6 years. I took Saaz for this 6 years..recently there was severe pain in my shoulder and doctor prescribed me to take omnicortil60 mg from this January,,,then he reduced dosage for every week and now I am currently taking 5mg,,,due to this tablet my face was swollen and there is weight gain of 5 kg...how long it will take for me to come back to normal??will this omnocortil 5 mg makes me to weight gain further or swells my face further??

Hello,

Like any other medicine, Omnacortil too has it's side effects. Face swelling and weight gain happen when you take steroid for a longer period of time and Omnacortil is a steroid. Now, coming back to your question as to how long it is going to take to coming back to normalcy then my answer is that it will be gradual and definitive if does will be tapered as you mentioned. Don't worry, it will not take more than 2-3 weeks.
